EVALUATION OF THE VAPE CATEGORY AMONG E-CIGARETTE SMOKERS IN UZBEKISTAN
Abstract
This article examines the consequences of the ban on flavored e-cigarettes and vapes, with a focus on consumerbehavior in Uzbekistan. The study, which surveyed 1,031 active vaping users, highlights the signifcant challenges andunintended consequences that such a ban could bring.The article explores consumer preferences for regulatory alternatives and highlights the complexity of regulatoryresponses to tobacco control. It suggests that outright bans may be ineffective in reducing smoking rates and may leadto negative public health consequences. The fndings provide an opportunity for policymakers to consider more effectivestrategies to regulate the vaping industry.
