Abstract

The article describes the paradigmatic structure of word-formation categories with the concomitant meaning "quantity". R.S. Manucharyan's classification scheme is used as the most complete reflection of the ratio of producing and derived words, the type of opposition, and the specifics of the word-formation meaning. In addition, the functioning of derived words (derivatives) with the accompanying "quantity" scheme is considered. The aim of the study is a paradigmatic description of the very organization of word-formation categories with the accompanying meaning "quantity", including linguistic interpretations of the conceptual category of quantity by word-formation means in modern Russian through their syntagmatic (textual) implementations. A derived word is considered as a means of continuous production and reproduction of lexical units expressing certain types of word-formation meanings in colloquial speech and written texts, as well as the word in general, realizing its authentic, real properties. As a result, there is a constant interaction of word-formation meaning with other components of the lexical meaning of the word and text, as a result of which the semantics of the derived word is characterized by mobility and variability. The unit of analysis at the paradigmatic level is the word formation category, and at the syntagmatic level is the microtext, that is, a section of text in which the complex semantics of a derived word is revealed with sufficient completeness, including word-formation meanings, connotations, semantic and word-formation agreement, and less often misalignment. It is significant to study the various functions of derived words in texts, in real situations of communication, and the pragmatic use of the system of organization of word-formation meanings, as well as to identify the role of quantitative semes in the organization of the meaningful aspect of Russian word formation.
