On the Issue of the Sources of Formation of the Urban Population in Karakalpakstan (based on the Material of the City of Nukus)
Abstract
he article, on the example of the capital of Karakalpakstan, examines the sources through which the formation of the urban population occurs. The sources of formation of the urban population in Karakalpakstan in 1960s — 1970s were varied. One of the main factors was the influx of population from rural areas to cities associated with the development of industry and the construction of new enterprises. At the same time, a significant number of people moved to cities from other regions of the USSR in search of work and a better life. Population growth due to births also played an important role in the formation of the urban population, especially in the capital of the republic - Nukus. In general, the sources of the formation of the urban population in Karakalpakstan in the 1960s — 1970s were associated with the processes of urbanization and industrialization of the republic. These sources influence on the socio-economic indicators of the city.
