Abstract
The anisotropy of acoustic wave characteristics in gallium arsenide crystals in the frequency range from 30 to 760 MHz has been studied. The measured values of the velocity and attenuation coefficient of acoustic waves were used to determine the real and imaginary components of the elasticity tensor. Cross-sections of the velocity and attenuation surfaces of acoustic waves by the plane (001) are constructed, characterizing the anisotropy of elastic properties. Special directions of propagation of acoustic waves in the plane (100) are found.
