Abstract

The demand for mineral resources and non-ferrous metal production is growing year by year. As a result, the metallurgical industry generates large amounts of technogenic waste. This waste accumulates in landfills, negatively impacts the environment, and occupies valuable land areas. One such technogenic waste is clinker - a byproduct of zinc production that contains many valuable components (zinc, copper, iron, gold, silver, etc.). The problem of clinker processing remains relevant, as many scientific studies conducted on clinker processing have not yet been implemented in production, while those that have been implemented have not allowed for complete extraction of components. Therefore, developing new and improved technologies for extracting non-ferrous, precious, and rare metals by processing zinc plant waste - specifically the clinker from JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex” - is of great practical importance. This article presents conclusions on the study of the chemical and mineralogical composition of clinker, as well as the development of a method for processing this waste from the zinc plant of JSC “Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex”.
