THE CROWDING OF ARTISTIC AND MYSTICAL VISIONS IN OTHMAN LOUSSIF’S POETRY
Abstract
The research deals with a basic issue in Othman Lousif’s poetry. It blends art and Sufism, and this does not mean that he is a traditional Sufi poet, but aims behind the use of Sufism to an artistic dimension, as Sufism and poetry share certain characteristics that link them, such as the tendency to imagination and stay away from reality. He creates a private imperceptible world, where the poetic images meet the Sufi images in a great blend and almost total fusion, and the distance between the poet and the Sufi almost disappears.. Othman Lousif’s poems are attracted by two currents, the art stream and the mystic current, and he added to that another dimension, the philosophical dimension consisting of art, Sufism, and philosophy.
