Abstract

The article shows the role of Russian scientists, in particular, a graduate of Moscow State University A.S. Uklonsky, in the formation and development of higher geological education in Central Asia. It is based on historical materials for a 100-year period of activity of the departments of mineralogy, geochemistry of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek. Arriving in Tashkent to organize the university, A.S. Uklonsky built the work on the creation of the department of mineralogy on the basis of the knowledge he acquired from pedagogical and scientific activities at the oldest Moscow State University. Over 50 years of pedagogical and scientific activity in two universities of the Republic (university and polytechnic institute), he created the Central Asian scientific school of genetic mineralogy and geochemistry. Developing the traditions of Moscow State University, A.S. Uklonsky from the first years of his teaching activity involved the staff and students of the department in collecting samples of minerals and ores for scientific research and the museum. Thousands of graduates of the geological profile passed through his lectures and lectures of his students on mineralogy. The article also shows the role of the individual in the development of geological science in Central Asia.
