Abstract

This article provides information about lexicography, one of the developing areas of linguistics, and dictionaries as its object of study. It also discusses the stages of creation of the explanatory dictionary of the Uzbek language, the presentation of gastronomic units expressed in them, and also dwells on dialect, which is considered a branch of the national language specific to a certain region, and the gastronomic units specific to dialects included in the explanatory dictionary are studied from a lexicographic point of view and described from a semantic point of view
