Abstract
This article examines the basic principles and approaches to teaching Uzbek as a state language, the current situation of students in Tajik-language schools in our country, the problem of bilingualism among them, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the functional-communicative approach using Tajik-language schools as an example.
