A Low-Sidelobe Millimeter-Wave SIW Cavity-Backed Slot Antenna Array with Simplified Feeding Structure
Abstract
A low-sidelobe millimeter-wave substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity-back slot antenna array with simplified feeding structure is proposed. This design employs a waveguide to feed the antenna, where the radiation slots are directly excited by the electric field of the cavity mode TE<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">101</inf>. This approach eliminates the use of power dividing structure, bringing out a simplified feeding structure. By utilizing Chebyshev polynomials, a low-sidelobe 2×8 array antenna is designed, achieving sidelobe suppression of 21.76 dB.
