Concentration parameter as a tracer of black hole subsystems in globular clusters
Abstract
This study investigates the empirical relationship between the concentration parameter (λ),which characterizes the central stellar density gradient of globular clusters (GCs), and thephysical properties of black hole systems within them. Using structural data derived from surfacedensity profiles observed by HST and Gaia DR2, we computed λ values for 47 GalacticGCs by applying the Nuker model through the simplex optimization method. These λ valueswere then correlated with black hole subsystem (BHS) parameters, such as black hole number, total mass, and relative abundance, obtained from simulation-based studies. These results highlightthe potential of the concentration parameter as a structural diagnostic for inferring thepresence and scale of black hole populations in GCs.
