THE STUDY OF SIMILES IN FOREIGN LINGUISTICS
Abstract
this article discusses the distinctive features of similes that hold significant importance in literary texts. Various views and explanations are presented regarding the general and artistic functions of similes in linguistics. The study further examines the investigation of similes in foreign linguistics, the approaches of foreign scholars toward similes, and the works in which similes have been analyzed. In this regard, foreign scientific literature and articles devoted to the study of similes are reviewed and subjected to analysis. Attention is also given to the contributions of foreign researchers to the study of similes and their role in the development of this field. Finally, contemporary tendencies in the study of similes are considered, and critical reflections on them are provided.
