Abstract

This article analyzes the role of oral history in shaping historical memory in post-Soviet Uzbekistan. It explores how personal recollections and local narratives interact with official historical discourse. The study highlights museum practices, academic and international projects. Oral history is presented as a key tool for rethinking the past, though its methodological development in Uzbekistan remains limited. The article emphasizes the importance of including diverse voices in building an inclusive historical identity.
