Development Of Russian Vocabulary In The Digital Era

Abstract

This article examines the main tendencies in the development of Russian vocabulary in the digital era and analyzes the factors that shape lexical change in contemporary communication. Digital technologies together with social media platforms and online learning environments have fast-tracked the creation and distribution of new words which include casual language forms and shortened words and English-based terms and blended linguistic structures. The fast pace of lexical change creates multiple difficulties for language users because it results in mixed styles and unclear word meanings and disrupts established linguistic rules.
