Abstract

This paper proposes an automatic control system based on fuzzy logic to stabilize voltage levels in distribution networks. The system monitors the voltage of a power transformer under load conditions and regulates it by connecting or disconnecting static capacitor banks according to the consumerside voltage level and significantly reduces the number of OLTC tap changes. A mathematical model of the distribution network was developed in the MATLAB/Simulink environment and simulated using a fuzzy logic algorithm. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed system responds adaptively to voltage fluctuations and effectively improves power quality and network reliability.
