ON CONTENT-FORMAL DISPROPORTION AT THE SYNTACTIC LEVEL

Abstract

This article analyzes some issues of semantic-syntactic asymmetry at the syntactic level. In complex sentences, two types of asymmetry are distinguished: Paradigmatic asymmetry, syntagmatic asymmetry. It is indicated that it functions actively in complex sentences of the synthetic type. The manifestation of semantic-syntactic asymmetry in simple sentences is associated with linguistic economy, and in complex sentences, with linguistic redundancy. Semantic-syntactic asymmetry is also characterized by the non-functional position of sentence members.
