Abstract

This study focuses at the semantic equivalency between the English word “faithfulness” and the Uzbek word “vafodorlik” as it appears in a few bilingual dictionaries. It shows subtleties in translation, such as cultural implications derived from Uzbek moral philosophy, through a comparative lexical analysis. Results show partial equivalency with differences in contextual usage, with implications for cross-cultural semantics and lexicography.
