Abstract

This article presents the problems of studying the bulk density, total porosity, water physical properties of alluvial soils of the old irrigated meadows of the Bukhara oasis and their further improvement. The specific gravity of the distributed soil types is close to each other in terms of low variability and fluctuates in the range of 2.54-2.73 g/cm3 along the soil cross-section. Under the influence of anthropogenic factors, the newly irrigated, developed sandy desert and old irrigated meadows, alluvial, soils with a strongly compacted subsoil layer are 1.42-1.71 g/cm3. The total porosity value is 50.9-52.3% of the soil volume, with a slight decrease in the porosity value in the middle section (47.9-48.5%), and in the deep layer it is 46.3%.
