Abstract

This article provides a scientific analysis of similarities and common technological approaches between underwater acoustic channels and communication systems used in space research. Attenuation, multi-path propagation, Doppler effects in the propagation of acoustic signals in underwater environments, as well as the attenuation, delay, and noise factors of electromagnetic signals at long distances in the space environment are compared. For both environments, the need for channel modeling, the use of sounding signals, noise reduction, and error correction algorithms is substantiated. The research results reveal the possibility of combining underwater and space experiments in the creation of reliable communication systems in extreme conditions. The discussion emphasizes the importance of multipath spread, coherence time, and frequency band selection in experimental design. The findings contribute to developing reliable models for simulation environments such as OMNeT++ and MATLAB, facilitating robust underwater communication system design.
