INTERRELATIONSHIP BETWEEN OVARIAN FUNCTION AND METABOLIC DISEASES IN WOMEN: A LITERATURE REVIEW WITH ANALYTICAL PERSPECTIVES
Abstract
Resume. This review summarizes and critically analyzes contemporary literature on the interaction between ovarian function and metabolic diseases in women. Special attention is given to endocrine and metabolic mechanisms, including insulin resistance, chronic low-grade inflammation, adipokine imbalance, and oxidative stress. The review highlights morphological and functional alterations of the ovaries under metabolic stress and discusses their clinical implications. Understanding these complex interactions is essential for the development of targeted preventive and therapeutic strategies in women with metabolic disorders.
