Abstract

Relevance. Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness worldwide. Phacoelastic glaucoma, which occurs in the setting of age-related cataracts or other changes in the lens, is characterized by a rapid increase in intraocular pressure and is a serious ophthalmological problem. Purpose of the study. The aim of this work was to determine the most effective and safe non-pharmacological methods that can be used in the rehabilitation of patients after surgical treatment of phacogenic glaucoma. Materials and methods. The study was conducted at the outpatient ophthalmology department of the multidisciplinary clinic of the Samarkand State Medical University on 75 patients (31 women and 44 men) diagnosed with operated phacogenic glaucoma. Of these, the main group consisted of 40 patients who, in addition to standard treatment (drug therapy), received a comprehensive program of rehabilitation (psycho- and physiotherapeutic) measures. The control group included 35 patients who received only standard ophthalmological therapy. Results and conclusion. The obtained data show that in the treatment of phacogenic glaucoma, the most effective are complex treatment measures (psycho- and physiotherapy in combination with traditional methods).
