Abstract

This article explores the mechanisms by which emotional states are conveyed through facial expressions and examines the major challenges involved in interpreting these expressions in different communicative contexts. Drawing upon research in cognitive linguistics, psycholinguistics, and nonverbal communication, the study discusses the universal and culture-specific features of facial expressions, the cognitive filters that influence perception, and the reasons for misinterpretation. The findings emphasize the importance of a multimodal analytical approach for accurate decoding of emotional signals.
