Abstract

We investigate the effect of a test particle on the overspinning process of rotating black holes in higher-dimensional pure Lovelock gravity. By considering the absorption of a test particle across the event horizon, we analyze the conditions under which the particle can be captured and explore the corresponding region of parameter space. This framework allows us to test the weak cosmic censorship conjecture for rotating black holes in pure Lovelock gravity. Our results demonstrate that, for suitable parameters, a test particle can overspin a rotating black hole, leading to a violation of the weak cosmic censorship conjecture within pure Lovelock gravity.
