Abstract

Isaac Asimov’s robot stories remain a cornerstone for understanding the philosophical, ethical, and technical challenges of artificial intelligence (AI). The author’s formulation of the Three Laws of Robotics provided an early framework for machine ethics, governance, and human-AI cooperation. This article explores the directions of AI application for social development presented in Asimov’s works, emphasizing how fictional depictions anticipate real-world AI research areas such as human-robot interaction, cognitive architectures, ethical decision-making systems, and AI-based governance models.
