Abstract
This article presents the results of applying an analytical model of software within an information system subject to failures and malfunctions. The fault-tolerance mechanism accommodates certain types of errors and limitations; however, it cannot fully eliminate catastrophic failures or situations involving a large number of errors. The proposed model assumes a Poisson flow of all events occurring within the information system, which is one of the core components responsible for the transmission, storage, and processing of information.
