Abstract

Distribution systems, intelligent technologies have changed the principles of digital education. With the learning institutions and universities adopting the mass adoption of digital platforms, scalability, interoperability, and immersive experience design has become a key aspect of concertedly strong e-learning ecosystems. The paper examines how distributed systems of the next generation being driven by cloud, edge, and metaverse technologies can provide greater scalability, learner engagement, and socio-technical malleability in a contemporary education. The paper summarises the available frameworks, raises the major integration issues, and proposes a path forward that could result into resilient, Artificial Intelligence-based, and learner-centric e-learning systems.
