Abstract. This article deals with the implementation of picture-based activities to enhance students’ academic writing competence, fostering students’ analytical and critical thinking, and encouraging the use of precise and cohesive academic language. A set of topic-related pictures, infographics, downloaded from free sites such as Unsplash or Pexels, assists in the creation of guiding questions and writing frameworks.
