Cultural Heritage: Improving Residents’ Responsibility Behavior from the Cognition-Affection-Conation Perspective
Abstract
Cultural heritage has both use and intrinsic value. However, it is exposed to multiple unknown risk situations, which are significant, particularly in conserving and preserving cultural heritage. Based on existing literature, we find that an individual’s cultural worldview plays a vital role in influencing an individual’s behavior. Under this context, this work utilized the cognition-affection-conation theory to explore the relationships between cultural worldview and residents’ responsibility behavior for preserving cultural heritage. We collected the empirical data from 380 people who live in the world heritage site Samarkand. Then, our results demonstrated that the four dimensions of cultural worldviews positively affect the residents’ responsible behavior. In addition, emotional attachment plays an indirect-only mediation role in the relationship between cultural worldviews and residents’ responsibility behavior.
