Abstract

The accumulation of damages as a result of the operation of reinforced concrete structures requires work to strengthen these structures. The types of so structures are very diverse and there is no unique existing method for strengthening them. The design of strengthening or restoration of reinforced concrete structures should be carried out on the basis of the results of them in-situ inspection and verification calculation. The general condition of the structure, buckling, location of cracks and their width, size and nature of defects and damages, acting loads, and static diagram of structures must be determined. Here is considered the case study of structure’s strengthening by using traditional approaches based on re-evaluation of the current loads on structures taking into account seismic ones. The real tunnel structures in three tiers are considered - the main tunnel structures, the car park structures and the underground pedestrian structures. The methods based on these welded mesh structures are proposed here.
