Gamification and Its Potential in Fostering Research Competence among Teacher Trainees

ABI

Abstract

Abstract This paper examines the potential of gamification in developing research competence among teacher trainees. As pre-service teachers increasingly need strong research skills for evidence-based practice, traditional approaches often fail to engage students meaningfully. Gamification—the application of game design elements in educational contexts—offers promising solutions by enhancing motivation and engagement. This study analyzes how game-based elements such as achievement systems, feedback mechanisms, and collaborative challenges can improve research skills including literature review, data analysis, and academic writing.
