Abstract

Acute otitis media is an inflammation of the middle ear of viral or bacterial origin, usually accompanied by upper respiratory tract infections. Clinically, it manifests as earache and deterioration of the patient's general condition (fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea). Diagnosis is made on the basis of otoscopic examination. Antibiotics and painkillers are prescribed.
