Abstract

This article discusses the methodological significance of using authentic audio-visual materials to enhance students’ listening comprehension in English language teaching. Listening is considered one of the most complex receptive skills because it requires learners to process pronunciation, intonation, rhythm, vocabulary, grammar, contextual meaning and communicative intention simultaneously. The article analyzes the role of authentic videos, interviews, podcasts, short lectures, news reports and real-life dialogues in developing students’ ability to understand natural English speech.
