Abstract

In recent years, a steady increase in the number of foreign students has been observed in higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This process, in turn, enhances the relevance of organizing medical services and ensuring the health preservation of foreign students within educational institutions. This article analyzes data on the admission and graduation of foreign students at Samarkand State Medical University during the period 2020–2025. It was found that a total of 4,558 foreign students are currently studying at the university, the majority of whom come from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Republic of Korea, and Turkey. The research results indicate that language and cultural barriers, insufficient awareness of the healthcare system, and psychological factors play a significant role in the utilization of medical services by foreign students. The findings substantiate the need to improve an adapted healthcare service system for foreign students, strengthen preventive measures, and develop healthcare management mechanisms.
