THE CONSTITUENT COMPONENTS OF THE PROFESSIONAL AND METHODOLOGICAL COMPETENCE OF PRE-SERVICE ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS

Abstract

This article analyzes the concept of professional and methodological competence of pre-service English language teachers, its scientific and pedagogical essence, structure, and constituent components. Based on a modern competency-based approach, the issues of developing the professional and methodological training of English language teachers are examined. The study identifies the main components of professional and methodological competence through an analysis of national and international pedagogical literature and reveals their content. The findings of the article contribute to improving the process of training pre-service English language teachers.
