Abstract

Post-extraction alveolitis is one of the most common inflammatory complications following tooth extraction and remains a significant issue in modern dentistry. Despite advances in surgical techniques, the incidence of this condition remains relatively high, particularly after traumatic or complicated extractions. This article reviews the main etiological factors of post-extraction alveolitis, current preventive strategies, and modern treatment approaches. Special attention is given to the preservation of the blood clot, antiseptic management, the use of pharmacological and biomaterial agents, and the importance of early diagnosis and comprehensive therapy.
