Abstract

This article analyzes the political initiatives undertaken by the Republic of Uzbekistan in addressing regional environmental challenges, with particular emphasis on the Aral Sea crisis. In this context, the political, environmental, and economic initiatives promoted by the Government of Uzbekistan, as well as international cooperation frameworks and practical strategies, are examined. The study explores the underlying causes of the ecological disaster in the Aral Sea region, its regional and global significance, and highlights the political relevance of the projects and major initiatives implemented to mitigate this problem. Based on the most recent statistical data and available empirical evidence, the research discusses transformations in Uzbekistan’s environmental policy and the achievements attained as a result of these reforms. The article provides an overview of the current state of ecological rehabilitation and adopts an analytical approach grounded in the principles of environmental diplomacy, regional cooperation, and sustainable development, ultimately offering recommendations for future policy measures.
