Abstract
This article discusses the essence of ecological psychology and its importance in studying the relationship between the population and the environment. The psychological, social and behavioral connection of the population with the natural and social environment is analyzed. The article broadly covers the concepts of ecological consciousness, ecological culture and ecological responsibility, and justifies their role in the life of society. It also analyzes the impact of urbanization, industrialization and global environmental problems on the human psyche. The importance of ecological education and upbringing and the importance of developing ecological culture among the population are highlighted.
