Abstract
The article is devoted to the views of the Russian historian Lev Nikolaevich Gumilyov on the processes of ethnogenesis. It focuses on the processes of placement and interaction of ethnic groups in the Central Eurasian latitudes, based on his two famous works: "Ancient Russia and the Great Steppe" and "Ethnogenesis and Biosphere of the Earth."
