HAMID OLIMJAN'S NAVAI STUDIES IN THE CONTEXT OF NIZAMI AND NAVAI'S LITERARY HERITAGE (BASED ON ARCHIVE SOURCES)
Abstract
This article examines the scholarly contribution of Hamid Olimjon, a prominent Uzbek poet and literary scholar of the twentieth century, to the study and interpretation of Alisher Navoi’s works based on archival sources. The research analyzes Olimjon’s reports,academic and publicistic articles, as well as manuscript and printed studies written in connection with the preparation for the 500th anniversary of Navoi. Particular attention is paid to his interpretations of the epics Farhod and Shirin and Layli and Majnun, and to the issues of humanism, national spirit, and modern relevance in Navoi’s творчество. Archival autograph and typewritten materials are introduced into scholarly circulation, and their significance for the development of Navoi studies is highlighted.
