The study analyzes the engagement of Alisher Navoi’s poetic legacy in the works of one of the prominent representatives of contemporary Uzbek poetry, Ulugbek Hamdam. In the poet’s works, Navoi’s ideas of the perfect human, divine love, spiritual quest, inner perfection, and attainment of Truth are reinterpreted in the context of the modern individual’s psychological state, personal dilemmas, and spiritual struggles. The analysis is illustrated with examples from Hamdam’s poems and narratives, including the short stories “Musulmon” and “Yaxshiyam sen borsan”, as well as the epic “Yangi inson”
