Abstract
This article aims to conceptually ground a psychosocial integrative approach to explaining social media addiction (SMA) among students, addressing the limitations of existing individual-clinical perspectives. It integrates SMA risk factors, mediating mechanisms, and gender moderation within the logic of “conditional process analysis”, interpreting the issue as a complex process involving the interaction between personality, the psyche, and the technological environment.
