Modeling and optimization of a disc-type digging mechanism for potato harvesters
Abstract
The performance of potato harvesters is largely determined by the work of the digging working bodies. The article provides an analysis of the existing digging working bodies of potato harvesters. As a result of the analysis, a new working body is proposed - disks with teeth along the periphery. The process of interaction between a disk and a soil-tuberous layer is considered. Analytical expressions are obtained for determining the traction force developed by the disk and the required moment. A differential equation for the motion of a particle over the surface of a disk is composed. The numerical values of the parameters of the proposed working body are obtained.
