Function of steel wire rope in an anchoring system
Abstract
This article outlines the fundamental principles of safety and stability in the modern mining industry and during the construction of underground structures. Anchoring support systems are crucial for achieving safety and stability goals. Steel ropes, as an integral part of this system, not only significantly increase the overall effectiveness of the support but also play a critical role in preserving the integrity of the surrounding rock mass. The function of the steel rope in an anchoring support system is to distribute the pressure exerted on the rock formations over a wider area, thereby reducing the load on individual anchor points. This helps prevent rock falls, minimizes deformation, and ensures a high level of safety at the worksite. Additionally, the article elaborates on the importance of improving the reliability of anchoring support systems with steel ropes, detailing their key functions and their role within the industry. Furthermore, the variation in the distribution of axial tensile force along the anchor length has been analyzed.
