Abstract

The article is devoted to the philological analysis of the literary and scholarly heritage of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur (1483–1530) as a significant phenomenon of Eastern written culture. Special attention is paid to Baburnama, examined in terms of its genre and stylistic originality, linguistic features, and interdisciplinary character. The study analyzes the Chagatai language of the work, its lexical and semantic richness, syntactic structure, and the interaction of Turkic, Persian, and Arabic literary traditions. Particular emphasis is placed on gradational linguistic phenomena, including the use of nouns and numerals expressing measure, size, and degree, which function as important means of artistic and scholarly conceptualization of reality. The article highlights Babur’s contribution to the development of autobiographical prose, the literary language, and Turkic literature as a whole. It concludes that Baburnama represents a multi-faceted and highly valuable source for contemporary philological research
