Abstract

“Baburnama” is a unique monument in the history of Turkic literature, in which the author provides extensive and detailed information about the political events of his time, cultural life, folk traditions, cities, nature, and people. Therefore, “Baburnama” serves as a rich source not only for literary studies but also for linguistic, historical, and cultural research. In recent years, interest in this work has been steadily increasing among scholars, translators, and literature enthusiasts of Turkic-speaking peoples, particularly Turkish and Kazakh researchers. However, the presence of archaic lexical units, terms, and phraseological expressions in the text—many of which have either fallen out of use or exist in different forms in modern Turkic languages – may lead to various difficulties in comprehension. From this perspective, an explanatory dictionary of Turkish and Kazakh based on “Baburnama” offers a scholarly solution to these issues
