Abstract
This article examines the issue of illuminating the linguistic nature of film text and socio-cultural communication formed through cinema in modern communicative processes. Film discourse is interpreted as a complex semiotic phenomenon, consisting of the integration of verbal, visual, audio, and cognitive components. The study reveals the theoretical foundations of the main linguistic approaches used in the analysis of film discourse-structural linguistics, functional-pragmatic, cognitive, semiotic, and multimodal approaches.
