Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of adaptive learning systems in developing students’ web design competence within higher education. The research adopts a quasi-experimental design involving control and experimental groups to evaluate the impact of adaptive digital environments enhanced by multimodal learning analytics (MLA). A total of 120 undergraduate students participated in the study over a 12-week intervention period. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test assessments, learning analytics indicators, and engagement metrics. The findings reveal that students exposed to adaptive learning systems demonstrated significantly higher improvement in web design competence compared to those in traditional learning environments. The results highlight the role of personalized learning pathways, real-time feedback, and data-driven adaptation in enhancing learning outcomes. This study provides empirical evidence supporting the integration of adaptive learning technologies in digital education.
