Human–Ai Collaboration in Adaptive Learning Systems: A New Paradigm for Competence Development
Abstract
This study examines the emerging paradigm of human–AI collaboration in adaptive learning systems and its impact on competence development in higher education. As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into digital learning environments, the interaction between human learners and intelligent systems has evolved into a key factor influencing learning effectiveness and personalization. This research adopts a conceptual and analytical approach, synthesizing recent advancements in AI in education, learning analytics, and adaptive learning technologies. The findings indicate that human–AI collaboration enhances competence development by enabling personalized learning pathways, real-time feedback, and data-driven instructional decision-making. Furthermore, the study proposes a novel conceptual framework that integrates human cognitive capabilities with AI-driven analytical processes within adaptive systems. The results highlight the transformative potential of human–AI synergy in creating intelligent, learner-centered educational ecosystems and provide practical implications for the future development of digital education.
