Abstract

The article examines the constitutional and legal nature of economic sovereignty as a key element of the state sovereignty of the Russian Federation. Based on judicial practice, the article identifies the main characteristics of economic sovereignty– supremacy, independence, integrity, and unity of state power in the economic sphere. It is shown that economic sovereignty does not equate to isolationism or autarky; rather, it implies the state’s ability to independently formulate and implement national interests in the economy while maintaining participation in international economic cooperation. The structure of economic sovereignty is revealed, including its technological, financial (tax and budgetary), and resource (energy, infrastructural, and food) components. Particular attention is paid to constitutional judicial review as a guarantee that national interests are reflected in economic legislation. The article concludes that economic sovereignty serves as both the legal and institutional foundation of the state’s economic security and sustainability, ensuring the capacity for independent economic development and protection of national interests amid global challenges and integration processes.
