Abstract
This article analyzes the scientific and methodological foundations of using the 5E instructional model in teaching the topic of coordinates in primary school mathematics. The pedagogical and psychological features of the model and its role in improving students’ cognitive activity are highlighted. The integration of systematic, activity-based and competency-based approaches within the framework of the 5E model is substantiated. The results show that the use of the 5E model contributes to the development of logical and spatial thinking skills of primary school students and improves the effectiveness of mastering mathematical concepts.
